AN INTERACTIVE MOTION EXPERIENCE
Giant Spoon and Imaginex united once again with Adobe to create a one-of-a-kind activation using motion capture at VidCon 2019 in Anaheim, CA. Attendees entering the booth picked one of five unique characters, and once inside, they would be met with that character on a video portal. A soundtrack filled the room and the character and player started dancing, with the character mimicking the user’s motions and moves. Attendees were sent a recorded video clip of themselves and the character dancing together to post on social media.
TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE
Before visitors entered the space itself, they picked one of five characters to dance with and also entered an email where they could receive a video takeaway. We built a touchscreen interface, using design assets from Giant Spoon, to allow for this character selection.
MOTION CAPTURE
The software we created for this event captured positions and angles of attendees’ limbs, then used this information to move the corresponding limbs of the cartoon characters. The result: the character would mimic your every dance move.
SOCIAL INTEGRATION
While visitors were dancing with their character, a short video was recorded of the two together. This takeaway was sent to the attendee via email with the option for them to post on social media.
